Ben Newman has practiced civil litigation throughout Florida for over 25 years, representing clients in medical malpractice, nursing home, transportation liability, insurance coverage, premises liability, and general liability cases. In addition, he has served as a mediator and arbitrator, providing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services to attorneys and their clients, for over 15 years.
Ben was a partner with Wilson Elser, a national litigation firm, and was a shareholder with Gray Robinson, P.A., a statewide law firm. He has litigated and tried cases in all geographic regions of the state, from the Florida Panhandle to the Florida Keys, and now provides statewide ADR services to attorneys and their clients.
As an ADR professional, Ben is able to effectively work with parties and counsel to seek ultimate resolution of matters without the need for trial. As a mediator, he is persistent and focused in his efforts to assist in helping participants find common ground. As an arbitrator, he is respectful of the parties and process and deliberative in reaching a decision.
Ben received a B.A. from American University in 1989 and J.D. from the University of Miami in 1994. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. Ben maintains an “AV Preeminent Rating” with Martindale-Hubbell. He is a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit court mediator and qualified arbitrator, and is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
