Donald A. Myers, Jr.

Ninth Judicial Circuit

Don Myers had the honor of serving as a Circuit Judge for 11 years in the Ninth Judicial Circuit (Orange and Osceola Counties) where he tried and resolved cases in the Circuit Civil, Complex Business, Domestic and Felony Divisions. He was elected by his colleagues to serve as Chief Judge of the Circuit from 2019-2021, prior to his retirement from the bench. During his time as a judge, Don served as an Associate Judge at the 5th District Court of Appeal and was the Administrative Judge of the Appellate Division. Don also had significant involvement in the statewide judicial system, serving on the Trial Court Budget Commission, Executive Committee, as Co-Chair of the Trial Court Budget Commission and Commission on Trial Court Performance and Accountability, Joint Due Process Workgroup, and the Funding Methodology Committee.

Law Firm Experiences

Before his election, Don practiced for over 21 years in State and Federal Courts as a civil trial lawyer in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, first party insurance disputes and bad faith litigation. He handled cases for both the plaintiff and the defense. Don was also active in the adoption community, helping over 300 families with the legal process to finalize their international adoptions. He is A-V rated by Martindale Hubbell.

PERSONAL

Don and his wife are long-time Central Florida residents with strong local ties. They are active in their church, where Don has served as Secretary of the Board and Chairman of the Finance Committee. Don also serves on the District Advisory Board for his church and is a Trustee of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. In addition to volunteering for several local charitable organizations, Don guest-lectures at Barry University School of Law, University of Central Florida and Valencia State College.

Don Myers is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Court Mediator and as a Family Law Mediator.
