Our Mediator Team

Douglas Carey

Before becoming a certified circuit court mediator, Doug Carey practiced law for 40 years. He brings a deep and varied understanding of the mediation process to this role, where he strives to provide parties with sufficient opportunities to achieve tailored resolutions of their disputes. Mr. Carey believes that mediated results are usually more satisfying than those realized in court, given the reality of unpredictable juries and the prospect of appeals. Thus, he works to facilitate creative solutions that allow parties to move forward beyond litigation.

Mr. Carey’s legal experience spans the spectrum of civil law, including auto liability, premises liability, product liability, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, professional liability, insurance coverage disputes, fire losses and explosions, negligent security, and construction liability, among others.
